Always remember to PAY A PROFESSIONAL FOR A PROPER DIAGNOSIS. This customer called me with a self diagnosed failed transmission. He claimed he already knew what was wrong with the car and only wanted a quote for a transmission replacement. After some convincing, he approved a diagnosis before he purchased a transmission he was about to buy and what do you know, it ended up being a blown differential! People love to complain about diagnosis fees but there is a reason us professionals charge what we charge! This customer would’ve been out thousands of dollars in something that would’ve done absolutely nothing to fix his car all due to a misdiagnosis.

This BMW X5 came in because the customer said they heard a noise while driving, smoke from under the hood, and the A/C stopped working. After some diagnosing we found the A/C compressor shot a rod out of the block due to lack of lubrication. What could’ve prevented this? A simple A/C service! Whenever we perform that service we suck the old Freon out along with oil, vacuum the system for at least 30 min to boil out any moisture in the system, and recharge with clean freon and refrigerant oil to spec. THIS IS NOT THE SAME THING AS YOUR AUTOZONE A/C-IN-A-CAN. This is preventative maintenance just like when you perform oil changes on your engine. Now the question is, when was YOUR last A/C service? 2015 BMW M4 came in for a “drivetrain malfunction”, after some tests we determined the intercooler had lost all coolant due to an internal leak causing coolant to leak into the intake manifold and ducting. The S55 intercooler is a “water to air” style intercooler meaning it uses coolant to help cool down the compressed air from the turbochargers. Due to this design if there is an internal leak of the coolant fins the only way it can escape is through the intake. This customer was very fortunate that there was no major engine damage and opted for a new OE intercooler. Another S54 Vanos rebuild in the books! This customer came in with an intermittent check engine light on his E46 M3. Turns out, the exhaust camshaft was out of time, found a broken es hairs chain guide, and the vehicle failed the Vanos test. We provided a fully in-house rebuilt Vanos unit using @beisansystems rebuild kit, anti rattle kit for Vanos bearings, rebuilt solenoid pack, new upgraded exhaust chain guide, new upper chain guide, new Vanos filter, redrilled oil pump disk 1MM smaller to prevent rattle and broken exhaust sprocket hub, new @drvanos oil line, @langracingdevelopment cam bolt kit, and much more! Every part that was touched was cleaned and polished in house restoring the part to its original colors and removing any stains caused by lack of oil changes.
